My daughter recently told me that she wanted to learn how to play the piano. While this was something that definitely excited me, it also drew up a few concerns. If I was going to end up buying a keyboard or a piano for her, I did not want to end up paying a whole bunch of money for it only for her to give it up after a couple of weeks. That is why I wanted to find something that was inexpensive enough to where it would not end up being a complete waste of money were she to decide that playing the piano was not necessarily her thing. In order to figure out what sort of keyboard or piano I ought to buy her, I decided to run an internet search for cheap keyboards. I actually found a review on the internet for the alesis recital 88-key beginner piano, and it actually seemed to fit the bill quite well.
Upon reading about this particular piano, I realized that it was built specifically for the type of situation that I was in with my daughter. This piano was made for beginners so that they could learn how to play without having to invest a whole lot of money. Now, that also came with some negatives, as it did not have a lot of the features that the more expensive pianos might have. Still, for the price, it seemed to have quite a bit. It was a full 88 keys, which meant that she would be able to practice scales and learn as though she was playing on a full piano, which was something that I definitely wanted. It also seemed to have a lot of really cool features that other pianos around its same price did not seem to have, like reverb and other effects.
Looking over everything and comparing it with other keyboards around the same price, this looked to be the one that would be perfect for her. Most of the other pianos that had similar features were actually a whole lot more expensive, at least based upon what I was able to find on the internet. I did make sure to compare it to other pianos, and for the price this one seemed to be an absolute steal. I went ahead and bought it for her, and she was very grateful the moment that I gave it to her.
She has been playing for a few weeks now, and she seems to have really grown to love playing it. This might actually be something that she ends up doing for a long time. I am probably going to have to consider getting her something a little bit better sometime in the near future. For now, however, she really loves this piano and she is playing it all the time. I am definitely proud of her for sticking with this and trying to make it something that she becomes really good at.
